New Delhi: Following consecutive repo rate cuts by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in February and April respectively, several major banks have cut their fixed deposit (FD) interest rates. Many banks offer special fixed deposit (FD) schemes with attractive interest rates for a tenure of 444 days. These special FD instruments are aimed to attract depositors seeking better returns amid an unstable interest rate environment. In this article, we inform you about the 444-day tenor FD offerings from State Bank of India (SBI), Canara Bank, Indian Bank and Bank of Baroda.
SBI’s Amrit Vrishti
SBI Amrit Vrishti scheme is a special 444-day fixed deposit which offers an interest rate of 6.85 per cent per annum to general citizens. Senior citizens are entitled to get 0.50 per cent extra, i.e., 7.35% per annum, while super senior citizens (aged 80 years and above), are eligible to get an interest rate of 7.45% per annum. The FD rates are applicable from May 16, 2025.
Canara Bank 444 Days Deposit
Canara Bank also offers a FD scheme of 444 day tenor. The bank provides interest rate of 7.25 percent per annum to general citizens for amounts below Rs 3 crore, while senior citizens get a higher rate of 7.75% per annum. This fixed deposit scheme is in effect from April 10, 2025.
Bank of Baroda’s Square Drive Deposit Scheme
Bank of Baroda offers Square Drive Deposit Scheme with a tenure of 444 days with an interest rate of 7.10 per cent. Senior citizens are eligible to get 0.50 percent more, i.e., 7.60 percent, while super senior citizens (aged 80 years and above) are entitled to get a return of 7.70 per cent per annum. The interest rates are effective from May 5, 2025.
Indian Bank’s IND SECURE
Indian Bank’s IND SECURE is a special fixed deposit scheme with a tenure of 444 days. The fixed deposit plan offers 7.15 percent to general citizens, while senior citizens get 7.65%, and super senior citizens (aged 80 and above) are given a return of 7.90 per cent per annum. This special FD scheme is open for investment until September 30, 2025.
