New Delhi: Leaving the cricket world amazed in his debut season itself, 14-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi vows to do two times well for his team Rajasthan Royals (RR), in the Indian Premier League’s next season. Having left an indelible mark in IPL 2025, Suryavanshi entertained the crowd nationwide with his fiery opening knocks as he smashed the bowlers left, right, and centre of the arena.
He claimed the spotlight after creating the record for the fastest century for any Indian in terms of balls faced (35) when he blasted 101 runs off only 38 balls with seven fours and 11 sixes against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Jaipur in April. The quickfire knock helped Suryavanshi etch his name into the record books for the second fastest century ever in IPL, also becoming the youngest T20 centurion in men’s T20 cricket at 14 years and 32 days.
The IPL, on Thursday, posted a video of Suryavanshi on social media, in which he talked about his learnings in his debut season and how he is looking at his future with RR going forward in the tournament. “Playing in the IPL is like a dream for everyone, and I got a lot of positives from my first season, and I also learnt a lot in terms of what I can do for the team in the next season,” Suryavanshi said, as quoted by PTI.
Although the Royals endured a dismal season, the left-handed batting genius tasted success on the personal front as he was handed the IPL Super Striker of the Season award after the conclusion of the IPL 2025 final on Tuesday. “Next year, I will work on areas where I made mistakes and try to do much better for the team,” he added.

Suryavanshi, who featured in his maiden IPL season, further said, “My learning is that I have to do two times better than what I have done so that my team also plays in the final next year, and how much I can contribute to my team, I will focus on that.”
Considering his oozing form, Suryavanshi was also named in the squad of Under-19 for a multi-format tour of England along with Mumbai’s Ayush Mhatre, who made a remarkable debut for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). “It is a new tournament. I am going to the UK for the first time, so it will be a new experience. I will experience how the game goes on there,” Suryavanshi said about the tour.
“Ayush Mhatre, who played for Chennai Super Kings this year, is our captain. The preparations are going good and it will be a good experience of playing in England and will try to return with the trophy,” the teenager added.
Teenage sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi was named the Super Striker of the IPL 2025 as he debuted in the season, playing for Rajasthan Royals (RR) and left an indelible mark with his explosive batting straight away.
