Israel-Hamas War: The Israeli Military on Tuesday shared a video that shows the moment when ‘real-life superheroes’ saved three out of four hostages from the Hamas captivity.
In a “complex daytime operation” over the weekend, the video showed the Yamam unit rescuing hostages- Shlomi Ziv, Almog Meir Jan and Andrey Kozlov from captivity in Gaza.
The Israeli military and police first entered the apartment where the three men were held hostage by the Hamas in Gaza. Another video showed the hostages boarding a chopper along with the Israeli officers. “The takeoff of the helicopter from the Gaza Strip with three of the rescued hostages,” reads the text in the video.
These hostages were allegedly kidnapped by Hamas from the Nova music festival during their October 7 attack against Israel that led to responsive action against Gaza.
The Israel Defense Force’s Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari claimed that the rescue operation was planned for weeks using “precise intelligence”.
The Israel-Hamas conflict, the deadliest in the history of Gaza, began after Hamas led a horrific terror attack on Souther Israel on October 7, killing at least 1,189 and taking 252 civilians hostage. Subsequently, Israel launched a relentless response, with the Gaza Health Ministry reporting over 36,801 deaths, mostly civilians.
