Afghanistan’s most successful campaign

Afghanistan have now won five matches in this T20 World Cup and this edition has become the most successful campaign for them, surpassing their 2016 T20 World Cup where they won four matches.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz again played a match-winning performance with the bat scoring 43 runs on a tricky surface. Skipper Rashid Khan smashed two sixes in the last over and helped his team to post 115 runs on board. In response, Rashid again led from the front as he took four important wickets in the match. Naveen-ul-Haq finished the match by scalping last two wickets in the second last over of the match.

Afghanistan will face South Africa in the semi-final at Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad on June 26, Wednesday. South Africa are on a seven-win streak and are the only team with India who are unbeaten in this ongoing T20 World Cup.
