New Delhi: One of the most important traits for a goalkeeper is the reflexes. The incredible speed with which the ball travels towards the goal is not something a normal human being can stop. Only humans with special skills and abilities can stop the speeding shots travelling at the rate of a million miles an hour.
A lot of practice and hard work is required to become a goalkeeper in football with an equal measure of focus, concentration and anticipation also playing a huge role in the making of a top goalkeeper.
While it is possible to master all the traits with years of practice and hard work, it is hard to fathom a 9-year-old possesses the ability of a mature goalkeeper.
A video is going viral on social media that shows a 9-year-old from the Liverpool U-9 academy, making stunning saves to thwart the Liverpool first-team players. The viral video, which is breaking the internet, has garnered over five million views on X (formerly Twitter).
The footage shows Liverpool winger Luis Diaz taking shots in quick succession to catch the small kid by surprise but the young custodian shows incredible reflexes to make save after save.
Every save is cheered by the coaching staff and his fellow academy players. Diaz was accompanied by Konstantinos Tsimikas and Wataru Endo to the academy ground. After the fun shooting session, all three Liverpool superstars posed with the future Reds.
