New Delhi: Real Madrid have a new Galactico in town and it’s one everyone had been expecting for quite a while now. After quite a build-up, Kylian Mbappe finally joined Real Madrid last week completing his free transfer from Paris Saint Germain on a five-year contract. The move is sure to send shockwaves in the footballing world as one of the best players in the world currently is joining one of the best teams in the world for less than the price of a Real Madrid jersey.
The 25-year-old star is yet to be presented in front of the Los Blancos faithful at the Santiago Bernabeu because of his involvement with the French National Team at the UEFA Euro 2024, but the date for his presentation ceremony has now been set as Florentino Perez wants to present his prized asset as soon as the UEFA European Championship concludes.
His presentation ceremony is to take place on the 16th of July 2024, after undergoing medical tests and will be presented to a huge crowd of 80,000 passionate Real Madrid fans who will be eager to see their new Galactico at the Bernabeu. The ceremony is expected to be similar to that of one Cristiano Ronaldo, an ideal of the Frenchman. There is expected to be live music, along with fireworks on display and a catwalk is expected to be installed for the event.
Kylian Mbappe is expected to be presented with his new jersey number for Los Blancos at the event by Florentino Perez himself. Mbappe will share another similarity to his Real Madrid idol as he will wear the same number Ronaldo wore in his first season for the club.
Mbappe will be wearing the number 9 shirt for the club and is expected to switch to his preferred number 10 jersey, once Luka Modric retires at the end of the 2024-25 season. It is going to be similar to what Ronaldo did as well since he wore the number 9 shirt for Madrid when he first arrived but switched to his preferred number 7 once club legend Raul departed the Bernabeu for Schalke.
Kylian Mbappe has had a decorated career till now winning a total of 21 trophies at both the club and International level and he will be hoping to add to that number, especially the UEFA Champions League, a trophy that has plagued him throughout his career.
