Chennai: Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and expelled AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam (OPS) countered AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS). OPS said he did not request EPS to re-admit himself into the AIADMK and he would never do that. “I am ready to do anything for the unification of the AIADMK. My question is to EPS is whether he is ready for that. The AIADMK cadre and public wish EPS to step down as party’s general secretary since he led the party to defeat at the hustings multiple times; If EPS fails to do this on his own, the cadre and the public will create such a situation,” he added.

Earlier, Putting an end to O Panneerselvam’s claim that the AIADMK would be united in the coming days, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami charged that Panneerselvam has never been loyal to the party in the political history of the AIADMK.
“OPS has never been loyal to AIADMK. He entered the cabinet on the recommendation of some people. Jayalalitha gave the posts of Minister and Chief Minister to OPS. Everyone knows that after Jayalalitha’s demise, OPS pointed out to whom there was mystery in her death. We set up a commission of inquiry as we were forced to do so.
A question was raised that it has been reported that OPS is making efforts to join AIADMK. Edappadi Palaniswami said, “If you want OPS, you can think like that. But our leadership disagrees. A resolution has already been brought in the General Assembly and OPS has been removed,” he said.
