New Delhi: It seems age is catching up for 81-year-old US President Joe Biden. During a recent rally in Michigan, Biden, who had assured voters of his good health, mistakenly referred to Rep. Debbie Dingell as “Debbie Haley” instead of her correct name. He also made an unusual comment about Dingell, noting that she resembled his wife, First Lady Jill Biden. Earlier, during a NATO-Ukraine Council meeting, Biden called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy “Vladimir Putin” before quickly correcting himself.
The confusion continued later at a news conference concluding the summit, where Biden accidentally referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as “Vice President Trump.” Watch the video below.
Simple Mistake: Zelensky Brushes Off Biden’s Putin Mix-Up
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has downplayed President Joe Biden‘s recent slip-up, where he mistakenly referred to Zelensky as Russian President Vladimir Putin. Zelensky described the error as a minor mistake that should be overlooked, considering the substantial support the US has extended to Ukraine.
“It’s a mistake. The United States has provided significant support to Ukraine, so I believe we can overlook some errors,” Zelensky told reporters on Saturday at Shannon Airport in Ireland, where he was meeting with Irish Prime Minister Simon Harris.
Biden’s Gaffes: Not Just About Age, Claims Ex-Husband of Jill Biden
Meanwhile, Jill Biden’s ex-husband, Bill Stevenson, has proposed an alternative explanation for President Joe Biden‘s frequent gaffes, suggesting they may stem more from personal issues than age. In a recent New York Post article, Stevenson speculated that Biden’s gaffes might be attributed to a blurred sense of reality caused by past deceptions and exaggerations. “Maybe he doesn’t know what’s real and what’s not real. I think reality has disappeared in many ways. I think it’s catching up,” Stevenson said. The White House has yet to comment on his remarks.
Stevenson’s claims include allegations that Biden and Jill’s relationship began as an affair while she was still married to him. According to Stevenson, he and Jill were married in 1970, and their relationship began to deteriorate around the time they worked on Biden’s first Senate campaign. Stevenson asserts that Biden, then married to his first wife Neilia, who tragically died along with their young daughter in a car crash, began his relationship with Jill in 1974 when Biden was 31 and Jill was 23.
However, this narrative conflicts with the established account, which states that Joe Biden first saw Jill’s picture in 1975 after her marriage ended. They were introduced by Biden’s brother on a blind date and married in 1977. Stevenson has also criticized Jill Biden’s recent push for Joe to run for president, suggesting it is inconsistent with the Jill he once knew.
