Pennsylvania: The shooter who fired bullets at Donald Trump, Thomas Matthew Crooks appeared in an advertisement by BlackRock; the company has pulled down the video after the assassination bid.
20-year-old Thomas Crooks was identified as the lone shooter in the Trump assassination attempt by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Trump Shooter Appeared In A BlackRock Ad
BlackRock Inc, the largest money manager in the world made an advertisement in 2022 and it featured Trump’s shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks in the background.
The ad was shot in Pennsylvania’s Bethel Park High School which happens to be Crooks’ school; he graduated from here in 2022.
Investment Giant Pulls Down Video After Assassination Attempt
However, after the news of the shooting and identification of Thomas Crooks, BlackRock pulled down the advertisement video.
In an emailed statement to Reuters, the company said, “In 2022, we ran an ad featuring a teacher from Bethel Park High School, in which several unpaid students briefly appeared in the background, including Thomas Matthew Crooks.”
The company has removed the ad from circulation and has also agreed to submit all the necessary videos to the authorities investigating the matter. However, the ad has gone viral on social media.
BlackRock Condemned Attack On Trump
Condemning the attack on Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump, BlackRock in a statement said, “The assassination attempt on former President Trump is abhorrent. We’re thankful former President Trump wasn’t seriously injured, and thinking about all the innocent bystanders and victims of this awful act, especially the person who was killed.”
Who Was Thomas Matthew Crooks, Man Who Shot At Trump
The 20-year-old was a resident of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania which was about 40 miles south of the Butler rally; he was also a member of the local shooting club, Clairton Sportsmen’s Club.
Crooks has used an AR-Style rifle which was recovered by the law enforcement officials from the site of shooting.
Crooks was shot in the head after he tried killing the former US president; the Security Service killed the shooter at the spot.
