New Delhi: India women will look to continue their unbeaten run in the Women’s Asia Cup 2024 when they take on Nepal in the final group match on Tuesday. A win in the clash will help them book a berth in the semifinals of the eight-team event.
The Harmanpreet Kaur-led team registered comprehensive wins in their last two group encounters, thrashing arch-rivals Pakistan in the opening game and beating the UAE in the next clash. India women thrashed Pakistan by 7 wickets and then followed up the special victory by a massive 78-run win over UAE. Although, Nepal are an easy opponent for the Women in Blue but nothing can be guaranteed in the shortest format of the game.
Meanwhile, the Nepalese team are all but out of the semis contention after a big defeat against Pakistan, which pushed their net run rate down to -0.819. Although, they started off well with a massive win against UAE, their first in the Asia Cup but could not continue the same in their next encounter. Nepal need to beat India by a huge margin but the chances of it are very less.
