Gajanan Sankashti Chaturthi puja vidhi

On the day of Sankashti Chaturthi, devotees are advised to take a bath in the morning and resolve to observe the fast. The worship of Lord Ganesha should be performed with full rituals, offering sesame seeds, jaggery, laddus, and sandalwood to the deity. Gajanan is also very fond of Durva grass and Modak, so these items should not be forgotten. After these offerings, chant the ‘Om Gan Ganapataye Namah’ mantra, recite the Ganesh Stuti, Ganesh Chalisa, and Sankat Chauth Vrat Katha. Following the completion of the worship, devotees should perform the aarti of Lord Ganesha. In the evening, before moonrise, Lord Ganesha should be worshipped again. After the moonrise, offer Arghya with milk to the Moon God, perform the worship, and then break the fast with fruits.

Duration of Ganesh Chaturthi fast

The Ganesh Chaturthi fast can be observed for a lifetime or for 21 years. If this is not possible, devotees can observe the fast for one year. If this is not feasible, then it is recommended that the fast be observed for at least one month of the year and concluded on the Sawan Chaturthi.
