New Delhi: All is well between Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav. At least that’s how it seems after watching a video going viral on social media. The Board for Control of Cricket in India released a video showcasing the team’s journey from Mumbai to Colombo for the white-ball series tour of Sri Lanka. The video shows glimpses of the journey of the Indian cricketers including the boarding from Mumbai and arrival in Colombo.
The cricketers and the support staff looked in good spirits as they embarked on a limited-over series comprising three T20Is and as many ODIs against the Island nation.
India will begin the Sri Lanka tour with a three-match T20I series, starting July 27. After the conclusion of the T20I series, both teams will face off in a three-match ODI series, which will be held on August 2, 4 and 7 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
The squad announcement of the Sri Lanka series was full of surprises. Among them was the announcement of the T20I skipper. The Indian selection committee chose Suryakumar Yadav over Hardik Pandya to lead the T20I team and signalled the management’s long-term intentions. Hardik was not even considered for the deputy’s role as Shubman Gilll was named vice-captain..
Fans were left wondering how the change in leadership could impact the relationship between SKY and Hardik but the latter put the concerns to bed with a sweet gesture.

Why BCCI chose SKY?
Chief selector Ajit Agarkar, in his press conference ahead of the Sri Lanka tour, cleared the air about the decision to hand SKY captaincy ahead of Hardik, Agarkar said that they wanted to give the leadership to an experienced player, well-respected in the dressing room and more importantly more likely to play all the games, hinting at Hardik’s injury worries over the years.
