Serie A: Top 5 youngsters looking to impress in the 2024-25 season

New Delhi: Serie A is full of exciting talents, and the young players have made amazing performances this season even outside the clubs. More recently, the top Italian football league has featured more exciting young talents, with the average age of the tournament around 25.

Restriction on budget have led Italian teams to scout for players from countries other than France, Argentina, Brazil, or Poland, though these are still quite favoured markets for fresh talents. Players from Italy, too, have made a big cut in one of Europe’s top football leagues. Serie A, though often lacking the star quality of other top European leagues, still dominates through the league due to the good performances of upcoming players.

Patrick Dogru is one of the most exciting players playing in the league. Playing for Lecce, he has an exceptional game-reading ability and physical build. He has the ability to drive the ball through central areas with close control and uses his tight turning radius to move when the space closes. 

The 19-year-old can play as an inverted left-back or a traditional overlapping left-back. When he plays as an overlapping left-back, he can take one player down the line and score crosses. Lecce favours him for his duelling ability as he can come out on top of a duel.

Michael Kayode has been one of Fiorentina’s most versatile players. Although he plays as a full-back, he has also played as a right-back, left-back, and right-wing back and can even play as a wide central-backward. The 20-year-old’s defensive ability and on-the-ball quality make him an asset for his club.

Kayobe is known for his dribbling skills, which help him beat defenders. He takes on his opponent with the inclination to cover a large amount of ground and get back into good defensive positions. He has recently become more adept at creating goal-scoring opportunities for his team. Kayode is a player every club desires, with his ability to play in multiple roles.

3) Jacopo Fazzini

Jacopo Fazzini is a product of Empoli’s famed academy, which has, over the years, produced and refined some great talents. He impacts the game from the midfield and can play well in a defensive setup. His style has been defined as a press-resisting midfielder with excellent passing ability. He can support his team in every phase of the game. The 20-year-old has been gaining experience playing in one of the finest football leagues in the world.

Fazzini has been known to possess good ball control. Though he currently plays as a box-to-box midfielder, he has the talent and resources to take his game up a notch. Making his place in Italian football as well, this season, Fazzini will hope to have as much playing time as possible to make an impact on the bigger leagues.

2) Matias Soule

Juventus loaned Matias Soule to Frosinone last summer after he had hardly played for the club. The Argentinian had been impressing everyone with his performances in the youth team.

Soule can be an important player who can really make Frosinone’s season campaign memorable. He is one of the most creative midfielders in the league. He will make an impact in Serie A. Last season for Frosinone, he scored 11 goals from 39 games and made three assists.

Valentine Carboni

Valentine Carboni has been looked at as a great talent since his U19 days and was sent to Monza on loan by Inter Milan last season. He has shown his amazing technique with a stunning goal against the big names, 

Monza was impressive in the previous season, and they need Argentina’s midfielder if they want to continue to perform well in the upcoming season. He is one player who has greatly influenced Monza’s game.
