New Delhi: Air India Express announced the Freedom Sale ahead of August 15, 2024, to commemorate India’s 77th Independence Day. The airline is offering a special starting fare of Rs 1947, identical to the year of India’s Independence. The offer opened on August 1, 2024, and is open until August 5, 2024. To be sure, the airline will only offer special fare on selected routes, according to its official website.
The special offer applies to travel via Air India Express between August 20 and September 30, 2024. Air India Express is the budget carrier arm of Tata Group-owned Air India, which also merged Air Asia India. Since the offer is non-transferable and non-redeemable, it will have to be used by the buyer only.
The reservations must be carefully made since the airlines will not provide any refunds after booking and cancellation charges will apply. To be sure, the airline may cancel, suspend or terminate the offer without prior notice. Most importantly, this offer is only applicable to Xpress Lite fares. The offer, owing to its uniqueness, is available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

What is Air India Xpress Lite
Xpress lite travel class offered by Air India allows passengers to pre-book an added 3 kg of cabin baggage without extra charges. They will also receive 15 kg check-in baggage for an extra Rs 1,000 on domestic flights, International travellers can purchase 20 kg check-in flight storage for Rs 1,300.
Xpress Lite is a cabin baggage-focused flight offering.
The passengers are offered 7 kg cabin baggage.
If passengers want to carry extra check-in luggage above 15 kg, they will have to pay the standard charges per additional kg of baggage.
Xpress Lite fare does not include meals and seat selection options. These are available for separate purchase.
