Dhaka: An ISKCON temple in Meherpur, located in the Khulna division of Bangladesh, was completely destroyed in a fire on Monday. The devastating incident resulted in the loss of irreplaceable holy deities of Lord Jagannath, Baladev, and Subhadra Devi.

The arson attack comes amidst a surge of unrest in the country, raising serious concerns about the safety and security of religious minorities. The entire temple complex, including the sacred idols, has been reduced to ashes, leaving the Hindu community in shock and disbelief.

The attack has triggered widespread condemnation from religious leaders, human rights activists, and political figures both within Bangladesh and internationally.

Kajol Debnath, leader of the Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, told news agency PTI that at least four Hindu temples were targeted on Monday and suffered minor damages.

The ISKCON community is deeply saddened and outraged by the desecration of their holy place of worship.
