Arshad Nadeem trumps Neeraj Chopra to win IND vs PAK battle, wins gold with Olympic record throw

New Delhi: Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem set a new Olympic record in the men’s javelin throw event at Paris Games. Arshad shattered the record of Norway’s Andreas Thorkildsen with a massive throw of 92.7m on his second attempt. Arshad trumped India’s Neeraj Chopra in the Indian vs Pakistan battle to clinch gold with a record throw.

While he had a foul in his first attempt where he slipped a bit while throwing the javelin, his second attempt proved out to be way too good. Thorkildsen, meanwhile, held the Olympic record of a throw of 90.57m which was made at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
