New Delhi: Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the most popular Muslim athletes in the world and has been a legendary MMA fighter with a spectacular unbeaten record of 29-0 in his professional career. Khabib had an extraordinary MMA career and he was always on top throughout his career but in 2022 Khabib saw a dip in his career.
Khabib left UFC in 2020 and became the coach of his cousins who were signed by UFC and also ran his MMA organisation in Dagestan by the name of Eagle FC. In 2022, things have been changing for Khabib as Russia started to invade Ukraine. He also had some legal issues with the Russian government, including tax evasion and possession of a UAE passport, and the Russian government seized the bank accounts of Khabib which led him to travel outside of his hometown.
There was also a report that a terror attack had happened in Dagestan which later revealed that one of the attackers was trained at Khabib’s MMA gym which led to a raid on his organisation. He also owes the government $3.3 million (over 300 million Russian currency) in taxes.
If Khabib is unable to repay his loans or settle the things with Russian government then the government will seize his house in Dagestan and block his all accounts. Back in 2020, he purchased Gorilla Fighting Championship which is now known as Eagle FC his own MMA promotion. The Eagle FC made its debut in 2022 and has its events in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.

Khabib owes 300 million Russian currency in taxes to the Russian government and is reported that the government will seize his house on short notice with this tragedy going on his arch-rival McGregor took advantage and shared a message that he sent to Khabib that he will buy his house if he can’t afford to pays the taxes and he can help him from getting out from the case.
