New Delhi: India-made Indri Single Malt Whisky was adjudged ‘Whisky of the Year’ at the USA Spirit Rating Awards 2024. A product of Piccadilly Distilleries, Indri Single Malt Whisky was also named one of the world’s top 15 whiskies at the 2024 International Whisky Competition.
Overall, the Indri brand portfolio won 5 awards at the USA Spirit Rating Awards 2024:
Indri Dru won the Whisky of the Year award
Indri Dru was also named single malt whisky of the year
The spirit earned the award for the best spirit of the year by country
Indri Dru Whisky won a gold medal with 95 points
Indri Trini Whisky also secured the gold medal with 90 points
The awards were granted after the whiskies were judged based on their quality, value and packaging. Indri Dru won the gold medal in the Tokyo Whisky and Spirits Competition earlier this year. Indri Dru Single Malt also won the Meininger International Spirit Award in Germany earlier this year.
Accolades for Indri Founders’ Reserve whisky
The Indri Founders’ Reserve 11-year-old Wine Cask was adjudged one of the top 15 whiskies of the world with 95.09 points and stood at the 8th spot on the list of the world’s top whiskies. It also secured the Best Indian Whisky award as well as the Best Single Malt Indian Whisky award. The whisky also won a gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Indri derives from the Sanskrit word Indriya or Indris which means the five senses. The single malt is known for its gold and amber colour apart from a nutty flavour derived from pineapples, citrus and raisins. Indri Dru Whisky is priced at Rs 7,000-8,000 per bottle and can be purchased in the following countries:
