New Delhi: Indian indices closed in the green on Thursday anticipating indications of a potential rare cut by the US Federal Reserve and buoyed by indications to that effect with the US FOMC commentary stating that inflation had neared the Federal Reserve’s target while rising unemployment made the possibility of rate cuts a palpable reality. The Sensex closed 147 points higher at 81,053.19, while the Nifty rose 41.30 points to 24,811.50. Here are stocks that are likely to remain in focus on Friday:

Adani Power: The company received the NCLT Hyderabad bench’s approval for the acquisition Lanco Amarkantak Power for Rs 4,101 crore.

Ambuja Cement: Adani Group may offload a stake of up to 3 per cent in the cement subsidiary in what is expected to be a regular adjustment of holdings, the PTI reported, citing people with knowledge of the matter.

Automobile stocks: The Punjab government has decided to raise the motor vehicle tax on 2- and 4-wheeler vehicles by 0.5-1 per cent based on their price range.

Bharti Airtel: The GST Appellate Authority ordered the telco to pay Rs 194 crore tax to the Department of Telecom for licence fees and spectrum usage charges, it said in a regulatory filing.

Dish TV: The DTH operator was fined Rs 12.74 lakh by index operators BSE and NSE for the absence of quorum on its board, the company said in a regulatory filing.

GAIL: The state-owned utility company revealed that it had inked a pact with US-based biofuel company Petron Scientech to jointly raise a 500-kilo tonnes per annum capacity bio-ethylene plant in India.

Hindalco: Hindalco Industries revealed plans to infuse $10 billion in multiple domestic and US-based projects, said chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla during the company’s annual general meeting.

IREDA: The renewable energy financier shared plans for a Rs 4,500 crore fundraise via share issuance leading to a strong surge in the company’s share price on Thursday.

Kalyan Jewellers: The jewellery store chain operator sold a 6.45 per cent stake to PE major Warburg Pincus for Rs 3,584 crore through an open market transaction.

SBI Life: The insurer received a Rs 239.27 crore GST demand from the Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner, Rohtak, Haryana, according to a regulatory filing.
