New Delhi: Senior Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan on Saturday called time on his 14-year international career with the game of cricket. In a video released on his social media platforms, the 38-year-old announced his decision to retire from international and domestic cricket.

He played his last international match in Chattogram during the third ODI match between India and Bangladesh on December 10, 2022.
“As I close this chapter of my cricketing journey, I carry with me countless memories and gratitude. Thank you for the love and support! Jai Hind!,” Dhawan wrote in his caption on his official social media platforms.

An Indian Player Who Has Zero Haters..

Shikhar Dhawan’s contributions to ICC tournaments
Shikhar Dhawan was considered to peak his form for the Indian side particularly in the ICC events. His first appearance was made in the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 in England and Wales. He finished the tournament as the leading run-scorer with 363 runs in five innings at an average of 90.75. The Delhi cricketer was named the player of the tournament for his vital contributions as India lifted the silverware under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.
Dhawan was also India’s leading run-getter in the ICC World Cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand. He made 412 runs in eight matches at 51.50 while registering a couple of centuries, though India bowed out from the semi-final against eventual champions Australia.
He once again led the charts in the 2017 Champions Trophy with 338 runs at 67.60 coming from the southpaw’s blade but India failed to defend its title after a 180-run humiliating defeat to arch-rivals Pakistan.
With 10867 runs across formats at the international stage from 2010 to 2022, Shikhar Dhawan is currently the 12th most run-getter for India with 55 half-centuries and 24 centuries to his name. Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
