Who are Manu Bhaker’s favourite sportspersons for a perfect day out?

New Delhi: India’s shooting star Manu Bhaker has surely become the sportsperson of the ongoing year for the country as she continues to receive accolades and acclaim for her terrific outing at the Paris Olympics 2024 which brought the nation two bronze medals. Bhaker has since then grabbed all the spotlight and is visiting places and media houses for interviews and ceremonies held in recognition of her achievement.

In one of the recently conducted interviews, she was asked to pick one sportsperson with whom she would want to spend a day. The 22-year-old shooter didn’t reveal just one name, finding it difficult to answer, and rather named four athletes she would love to spend her day with. She names Indian cricket stalwarts Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and MS Dhoni and also named Olympic legend Usain Bolt as another pick, having followed his journey.

“Maybe I’ll name a few of my favourites. Usain Bolt is one of them. I’ve read his book so many times and I’ve known his journey as well and have watched so many of his interviews too. And then, in India, cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Dhoni sir (MS Dhoni), and Virat Kohli. It would be an honour to spend even an hour with any of them,” Bhaker told Cosmopolitan.

Future vision for Olympics

Bhaker has high hopes of seeing more medallists from India and said that she would want to contribute to the cause as well by sharing her experience with the budding athletes. “Being a sportsperson, I would want to contribute a lot to sports in India and I would want to see India win as many medals as possible… Olympics or any other event. I would want to give all my support and share everything – my knowledge, my experience with upcoming athletes,” Manu added.

Much deserved break for Bhaker

The 22-year-old became the first Indian to win two medals in a single edition of the Olympics and shot to fame right then. She performed brilliantly in the 10m air pistol events—women’s and mixed team—and finished third. However, she suffered heartbreak in her next category, the women’s 25m air pistol event, in which she finished fourth.

Bhaker had announced that she would be off from shooting for three months as she recovers from a hand injury. But Bhaker has already planned a plethora of activities she will turn to during her layoff period, including martial arts, violin, and horse riding.

Manu Bhaker recently named her favourite sportspersons she would like to spend a day with and the revelation is indeed elite. The ace shooter has been in the spotlight ever since her bronze-double at Paris Olympics 2024.  Other Sports Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
