New Delhi: Brighton and Hove Albion have had a strong start to the new campaign as they sit atop the Premier League table after the first two games. New manager Fabian Hurzeler has gotten the Seagulls off to a fantastic start with two wins from two, with new signing Yankuba Minteh looking extremely lively in both of their wins of the season, grabbing an assist in the first game.
They’ve had an impressive transfer window till now, bringing in exciting young players and it is set to get even better as they look at two complete deals for two very exciting players. Following the departures of Pascal Gross and Adam Lallana, the club seemed to be missing a creative spark from the middle of the park and it seems that they’ve now taken measures to address that area of the pitch.
Celtic’s English-born Danish midfielder Matt O’Riley is all set to complete his move from Celtic Park to the Amex Stadium in a deal worth £30 million including add-ons. The 23-year-old is a product of the Fulham Academy and made one appearance for the Fulham first team before moving to Scotland. He is now on the verge of a return to the Premier League after establishing himself as one of the finest midfielders in the Scottish Premier League.
He had a brilliant season for the Bhoys last time around, helping them win another SPL title as he made 49 appearances for them, scoring 19 goals and garnering 18 assists throughout the campaign. The midfielder was linked with a move to Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window but Celtic rejected the approach. He was also linked to moves to Chelsea and Atlanta in this window but it’s Brighton who seem to have won the race for his signature.

The Seagulls are also on the verge of completing a deal for Turkey’s UEFA Euro 2024 star Ferdi Kadioglu who is going to be joining them from Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce. The Turkish left-back was a member of the Fenerbahce academy before joining NEC in his birthland Netherlands, and returned to his adopted home in 2018, becoming an integral member of the squad ever since.
Kadioglu is a defensively solid full-back who can contribute well to attack and showcased his talents this summer in Germany, helping Turkey reach the quarter-finals for the first time since 2018. He’s made over 200 appearances for Fenerbahce since 2018 and contributed to 18 goals and 22 assists in that time. Brighton have let go of Valetin Barco on loan this season and Kadioglu will be challenging Pervis Estupiñán for the starting spot at left-back.
Brighton have had a pretty successful transfer window so far, adding the likes of Yankuba Minteh, Mats Wieffer, Georginio Rutter, and Brajan Gruda to their squad. The additions of Matt O’Riley and Ferdi Kadioglu will make their window an even better one and they will surely be looking to secure a European spot once again this season, after a disappointing league campaign last time around.
