New Delhi: A person who kills two or three people in a row over a considerable amount of time in different incidents is known as a serial killer (also known as a serial murderer). The motivation behind the killings is psychological gratification, and many serial killings include sexual contact with the victims at various stages of the crime.
According to the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), serial killers may carry out killings as a means of gaining attention, money, or satisfaction from rage or other emotional states. There are commonalities among the victims in terms of their appearance, gender, race, and demographic profile.
Although a serial killer is a distinct classification that differs from that of a mass murderer, spree killer, or contract killer, there are overlaps between them.
In this article, we will look at the countries with the most serial killers.

More serial killers have been reported in the United States than in any of the other ten countries combined, putting the country at the top of the global list. Few serial killers in the United States become well-known for good, in contrast to the historical and contemporary English cases of Jack the Ripper and Amelia Dyer. Both South Africa (ranked 3) and Japan (ranked 6 and top in Asia) have a collection of infamous serial killers ranging from the early 1900s to the present.
Some nations appear to have a higher rate of serial killings than others because their records go back many decades.
