New Delhi: The last date for the Aadhaar Card update expires in 20 days. According to a UIDAI notification which extended the last date for free Aadhaar update to September 14, 2024, from June 14, 2024. To be sure, the free Aadhaar update deadline only applies to online updates. If you choose to update your Aadhaar physically it will cost you a nominal fee of Rs 50. Once the free Aadhaar update deadline expires, you will have to pay Rs 50 for any updates irrespective of the mode of rectification. After the September 14, 2024, deadline, online Aadhaar update will cost Rs 25 per change.

How to update Aadhaar online for free
Free online Aadhaar update can be conducted by the cardholder on their own by following these simple steps:
Visit UIDAI’s official portal at: myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
Use a valid Aadhaar number and validate with OTP received on your registered mobile number
Once you reach your profile landing page, clock on Aadhaar update section
Click on document update and upload your proofs of identity and address
Next, click on the option to verify that the details furnished are correct
A service request number will be generated and emailed to your registered ID. This can be used to track your request.
The Aadhaar update will be processed in up to 7 working days
Documents required for Aadhaar update
To establish proof of identity, the cardholder can use the following documents:
Passport
Driving license
PAN
Voter ID card
Other IDs such as domicile certificate, certificate of residence, labour card or Jan-Aadhaar
Board mark sheets
Marriage registration certificate
Ration card

Apart from the documents cited above, Aadhaar holders may sue the following documents as address proof:
Bank statements for the last 3 months
Power and gas connection bills for the past 3 months
Property tax receipts that are a maximum 1 year old
