PM Modi lists advantages of fintech: ‘Access to easy credit & quality life for Indians’

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed the Global Fintech Fest here and said that that his government is taking all steps at policy level to help fintech sector and also abolished Angel Tax. He emphasised that the fintech has dented parallel economy and helping bridge the gap between villages and cities.

The Fintech sector has played important role in making financial services democratic, made access to credit easy, inclusive, PM Modi said.

The prime minister further informed that loans worth over Rs 27 lakh crore were disbursed under Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana, which is the world’s largest microfinance scheme, PM Modi said at Global Fintech Fest.

Highlighting BJP-led regime’s work at the centre in the last 10 years, he said over USD 31 bn have been invested in fintech space, fintech startups have grown by 500 per cent.
