New Delhi: An old clip of former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh addressing his father Yograj Singh’s mental issues has gone viral on social media after his absurd comments on former India captain MS Dhoni. Yograj has perpetually attacked Dhoni over the lack of chances for his son Yuvraj after his return from cancer.
Yuvraj, who played an instrumental role in India’s ODI World Cup triumph in 2011, was part of India’s squad in the 2014 T20 World Cup and the 2015 ODI World Cup. The swashbuckling all-rounder was also included in India’s squad in the 2016 T20 World Cup where the Men in Blue crashed out from the semi-final. Yuvraj was sidelined from the national team after the 2016 T20 World Cup before making his comeback in 2017.
However, he failed to cement his spot and eventually retired from international cricket in 2019 after a couple of years on the sidelines. Yograj, who is known for his baseless accusations and absurd comments on Dhoni, once again attacked the former India captain by stating that he ‘destroyed’ the life of his son, who he felt could have played 4-5 years more. Yograj said he would never forgive Dhoni for ruining his son’s career.
“I won’t forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at his face in the mirror. He is a very big cricketer, but what he has done against my son, everything is coming out now; it can never be forgiven in life. That man (MS Dhoni) has destroyed the life of my son, who could have played four to five years more. I dare everyone to give birth to a son like Yuvraj,” Yograj said in an interview on Zee Switch’s YouTube channel.
Amid criticism of Yograj from all corners, an old video of Yuvraj has resurfaced on social media where he spoke about his father’s mental issues. In the video, Yuvraj says his father has a mental issue that he needs to work on but he never acknowledges it.
“I feel my father has a mental issue, and he just doesn’t want to accept it. This is something he needs to address, but he doesn’t accept it,” Yuvraj said on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast last year.

Yograj Singh insults Kapil Dev
Yograj didn’t stop after spitting venom against Dhoni as he also made some insulting remarks for the legendary Kapil Dev. Yograj said he told Kapil that he would leave him in a position where the world would curse him. Kapil led India to their maiden World Cup triumph in 1983 after beating the mighty West Indies in the final.
“The greatest captain of our time, Kapil Dev… I told him, I’ll leave you in a position where the world would curse you. Today, Yuvraj Singh has 13 trophies, and you have only one, the World Cup. End of discussion,” Yograj said in the interview.
Kapil had dropped Yograj, a former cricketer from the Indian team in 1981 following which he was also snubbed from India’s squad in the 1983 World Cup.
