Bengaluru: Musheer Khan announced himself on the big stage by smashing a scintillating century on his Duleep Trophy debut. Sharing the dressing room and playing against several A-listers of Indian cricket, Musheer stood tall and played one of the best knocks in the history of Indian domestic cricket during the India A vs India B match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Musheer mixed caution with aggression during his mature knock of 181 runs off 373 balls spread across two days. Musheer’s knock rescued India B, who were in a precarious position in the morning session on Day 1.
Musheer’s masterful knock was studded with 16 boundaries and five maximums. One shot, in particular, stole the limelight on Day 2. Facing Kuldeep Yadav, Musheer launched the star spinner over midwicket. The hit was so big that it landed on the roof of the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Musheer tried to go for another big one on the next ball but was caught by Riyan Parag as Kuldeep exacted immediate revenge on the young batter.
Musheer surpasses Sachin Tendulkar
Musheer’s 181 is now the third-highest individual total for a teenager on Duleep Trophy debut. Musheer surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s 33-year-old score of 159, which he scored for West Zone against East Zone in January 1991 in Guwahati.
The 19-year-old Mumbai superstar is now third on the elite list behind Yash Dhull and Baba Aparajith. Dhull, second on the list, scored 193 runs while playing for North Zone against East Zone in 2022 while Baba Aparajith, the only teenager to hit a double century on Duleep Trophy debut, sits atop the list with a score of 212.
The Chennai batter scored 212 for the South Zone against the West Zone in 2013.
