New Delhi: Fast bowler Shahnawaz Dahani endured a horrific outing in the ongoing Champions Cup, Pakistan’s premier 50-over domestic competition. Dahani was at the receiving end of an incredible assault by former skipper Babar Azam, who slammed the pacer for five successive boundaries during the Champions Cup match between Stallions and Markhors in Faisalabad on Sunday.
Babar’s efforts, however, went in vain as his franchise was bundled out for 105 in chase of a mammoth 232. Babar top-scored with 45 with the help of eight boundaries, five of which came in the one over from Dahani.
The incredible onslaught happened in the seventh over which yielded 20 runs. Babar displayed his full range, smashing two boundaries on the leg side and three on the off. The first ball was a dot delivery but what followed after that was nothing short of the extraordinary.
Babar pulled the second ball over mid-wicket for a one-bounce four and guided the next delivery past the slip fielder for a boundary through third man region. The third boundary also came in the same area as Babar’s blazing cut flew past the point fielder. The fourth boundary was the best of the let. Dahani bowled a short of a good length delivery and Babar played a superb backfoot drive to leave the fans and the commentators awestruck. Babar finished off the over with another pull shot to leave Dahani in disbelief.

Rattled Dahani’s fanboy moment
Babar’s incredible assault prompted skipper Mohammad Rizwan not to give Dahani another over for the rest of the innings. Following the match, Dahani took to social media and posted the video of Babar taking him to the cleaner, which back-fired as fans trolled him brutally on social media.
“Just cannot stop watching this again & again. Don’t think I would be able to sleep tonight. I just cannot understand, how Babar made it look so easy,” Dahani shared.

However, Babar couldn’t continue for long as he was dismissed soon after the incredible assault for a run-a-ball 45. His dismissal resulted in the fans leaving the ground in numbers.
