Ukrainian Drone Attack Triggers Huge Explosion at Russian Military Site Near Tikhoretsk

Tikhoretsk: A drone strike in the Tikhoretsk district of Russia’s Krasnodar Krai led to the detonation of explosive materials at an unspecified facility, according to regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev. The incident occurred on Sept. 21, when two drones were intercepted by Russian air defense units.

Debris from one of the drones caused a fire that spread to “explosive objects,” leading to detonations. Kondratyev confirmed that local residents are being evacuated as a precaution, though no casualties have been reported so far.

The Tikhoretsk district is home to a significant ammunition depot, which has reportedly expanded in recent months to store munitions from North Korea. While Governor Kondratyev did not confirm the exact location of the explosions, Russian news outlet Astra suggested that the ammunition depot was the target.

This attack follows a similar strike on Sept. 18, when Ukrainian drones targeted a major weapons depot in Toropets, Tver Oblast.
