An earthquake of 5.3 magnitude on Saturday struck Taiwan’s East Coast County of Hualien. According to the weather forecast department of Taiwan, the sparsely populated island on Saturday hit by the massive earthquake leading to a chaotic situation on the island. However, no immediate reports of damage have surfaced from the east coast county of Hualien.
The Taiwan administration said that the earthquake, which was located at a depth of 17 km, shook buildings in the capital city Taipei as well.

In April this year, Hualien was hit by the biggest earthquake to affect Taiwan in at least 25 years, leaving at least nine people dead and more than 900 injured.
