‘Academy in every village’: Bengaluru Bulls coach Randhir Sehrawat lauds PKL

New Delhi: Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) will kick off on October 18, Friday in Hyderabad. Telugu Titans will take on Bengaluru Bulls in the opening showdown of PKL season 11. Star Sports organised the inaugural Press Room for the PKL. PKL stars Pardeep Narwal and Pawan Sehrawat and their respected coaches Randhir Singh and Krishna Kumar Hooda were present in the press room.

Bengaluru Bulls coach Randhir is the only coach who has been connected with the team since the inaugural season. Sehrawat lauded PKL that after the success in season 1, every village has the Kabaddi academy and kids are coming along to see the practice sessions in the academy. PKL has become the second-best Indian league after Indian Premier League (IPL) and every parent now wants their son to play in PKL. PKL is now become a brand in India.

Randhir also added that if Kabaddi was in the Olympic games then India surely win a gold medal in Kabaddi. Kabaddi has grown much faster in India after PKL than anyone thinks off. Randhir didn’t want to coach any side in the inaugural season but Bulls management approached him hard and he joined the team on their request. Before PKL no one knew who is Randhir Sehrawat but now fans recognised him as the head coach of the Bengaluru Bulls team.

Singh also acknowledged that all-rounders played an important role in the modern era, he also believed that now every player can adapt in both offense and defense to help their side. He also compared the importance of all-rounders like Kapil dev played an important role in the 1983 World Cup and how he changed the game. Randhir opened up about the training sessions in which he gave defensive roles to raiders, which increased the chances of the team winning the important moments of the game. This strategy might change the dynamics of the game according to Randhir Sehrawat.

On the first edition of ‘Star Sports Press Room’ Bengaluru Bulls coach Randhir Sehrawat praised the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) as how PKL’s success has given every village their Kabaddi academy for the young talents.  Kabaddi Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
