New Delhi: Team India spinner Asha Sobhana faced the wrath of the fans on social media as she was brutally trolled after dropping two sitters in the all-important clash against Pakistan in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 on Sunday, October 06. Sobhana dropped back-to-back easy catches off the bowling of pacer Arundhati Reddy.
Indian bowlers dominated the proceedings after Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first in the high-profile clash. Reddy was the pick of the bowlers for India as she picked up a four-wicket haul while conceding only 19 runs off her 4 overs as Pakistan were restricted to a low-key 105/8 in 20 overs. However, Pakistan might have been restricted to a lower total had Asha not messed up two catches.
Sobhana first dropped a sitter in the 7th over of Pakistan’s innings when Muneeba Ali played a shot straight toward short fine where the Indian spinner was stationed. It was an absolute dolly but Sobhana ended up spilling it to give the Pakistan batter a reprieve. Sobhana dropped another dolly in the 13th over once again off the bowling of Reddy.
It was Fatima Sana, who got a thick outside edge as she tried to go after an outside-off delivery from the Indian pacer and the ball flew towards Asha, who was fielding in the short third-man area. Asha got enough time and used both her hands but ended up dropping another easy catch to leave fans perplexed and frustrated.

Asha Sobhana did it again, she should be thrown out of Indian team with immediate. If you can’t take such dollies then you simply don’t deserve to represent nation of 1.5 billion.
