New Delhi: While he played down the speculations over his selection in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Indian seamer Arshdeep Singh has instead revealed the mantra that keeps him happy and satisfied in his personal and cricketing life. There were reports that the fast bowler could be included for the tour to Australia later this year but later, the speculations proved to be otherwise.

Arshdeep was supposed to be a participant in the ongoing home Test series against Bangladesh and upcoming one against New Zealand but Indian team went with the pace attack featuring Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Aakash Deep Singh. The anticipation for the Border Gavaskar Trophy series is an all-time high as India travels to Australia for a 5-match Test series for the first time in 33 years.

Arshdeep sharpens red-ball skills in Duleep Trophy

The fast bowler sharpened his red-ball skills during the ongoing domestic season as he participated in the Duleep Trophy, representing India D. He made a strong case for himself with his performance but does not want to think too much about it. “I want to do my best in all the formats wherever I get the opportunity,” he said during the pre-match press-conference.

Arshdeep’s mantra for happiness and success

‘Kal ka Kal dekhenge’, that’s the thing which the Indian pacer follows in life. He revealed that his mantra in life is to enjoy the present and think about tomorrow when it comes. He says that the T20 World Cup is two years later and he does not think too much about the future, the pacer added when asked abou his future plans.

“I am enjoying my game and didn’t even realise how these two years flew by. I just try and stay in the present, enjoy the highs and lows, that is my focus,” Arshdeep said ahead of the second T20I against Bangladesh on Tuesday.

India, who are 1-0 up in the series, will lock horns with Bangladesh in the second T20I of three-game series on Wednesday.
