New Delhi: Team India wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson went berserk in the 3rd T20I against Bangladesh at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday. Samson launched an incredible onslaught against Bangladesh spinner Rishad Hossain as he smashed him for five consecutive sixes in a single over in the game.

Samson, who looked in cracking touch from the onset in Hyderabad, took Hossain to the cleaners in the 10th over of India’s innings after racing to his fifty off just 22 balls, the fastest by an Indian batter against Bangladesh in T20Is. The right-hander, who is known for his phenomenal strokeplay, made a mockery of Hossain’s bowling by dispatching him for five huge sixes off five consecutive deliveries.

Hossain started the 10th over with a dot ball before Samson smashed the next ball into the stands for a huge six. The right-hander dispatched a tossed-up delivery over long-off next for a second straight six before latching on to another tossed-up delivery from the spinner to send it into the stands for a third successive six.

There was no stopping Samson after a hat-trick of sixes as he smashed another big one on the penultimate delivery of the over to make it 4 in a row. Samson hit the last one over of deep mid-wicket to make it 5 sixes in a row against Hossain and get 30 runs from the over for India.

Sanju Samson slams 2nd fastest T20I ton by an Indian

Samson went on to notch up his maiden T20I century for India in the 2nd T20I against Bangladesh with a breathtaking batting display in Hyderabad as he smashed the bowlers to all parts of the ground. Samson completed his maiden T20I ton off just 40 balls to record the second-fastest century by an Indian in the shortest format after former skipper Rohit Sharma, who smashed a ton off just 35 balls against Sri Lanka in Indore in 2017.

Samson finished with a blistering knock of 111 runs off 47 balls laced with 11 fours and 8 sixes. He recorded the highest-ever individual score by an Indian batter in a T20I against Bangladesh to help set the stage for a mammoth total for the Men in Blue in Hyderabad.
