Omar Marmoush: Meet new Mohamed Salah who has attracted interest from Man United

New Delhi: The most costly upfront purchases aren’t always the most profitable, as the contemporary history of football often demonstrates. Better value can be found elsewhere in the market, there are men who are quietly making waves and are poised to make a significant impact.

If Manchester United are doing anything well these days, it’s throwing millions of pounds into the air to get players who don’t score enough goals. They have thrown huge sums of money at Atalanta for Rasmus Hojlund and Bologna for Joshua Zirkzee only in the last two summers alone, but they have yet to see any return on their investment.

This certainly brings the spotlight on Omar Marmoush of Eintracht Frankfurt, the newest sensation in the globe. The Egypt international has long been regarded as a valuable attacking player in the Bundesliga, but his performance in 2024 has put him in a whole new league.

Marmoush is currently without a doubt, one of the top forwards in the Bundesliga. He signed with Eintracht for the 2023–24 season, and in just 14 games, he equaled his career-high seven goals and three assists. He concluded the year with an incredibly outstanding return of 16 goals and six assists across all competitions.

Using social media, Mido, who is still keeping an eye on one of his favorite footballing sons from a distance, begged his old team Tottenham to sign Marmoush. He compared this suggestion to one he made before regarding Salah, which was rejected by the Spurs. Although United and Liverpool, two more formidable European teams, expressed interest in him, he chose to stay at Deutsche Bank Park.

After such a strong start to the season, Eintracht must be praising the stars that they managed to hang onto Marmoush with such minimal drama. He is three goals ahead of Harry Kane in the early Bundesliga scoring charts after contributing three goals, including a last-minute equalizer, in Sunday’s 3-3 draw with Bayern Munich. He has started the season with an incredible nine goals and six assists in just nine games across all competitions.

Interests coming from top European clubs

🚨🚨| Omar Marmoush dreams of joining Liverpool or Arsenal. However, Frankfurt is not prepared to sell the player in January and has set a price tag of €40-50M for the next summer window, reports @cfbayern.

Liverpool and Arsenal are also rumored to be interested in signing Marmoush, possibly as a replacement or a partner for fellow countryman Mohamed Salah. United is not the only team connected with a transfer for Marmoush. No matter where Marmoush ends up next, he’ll be a hit right away.

Marmoush is reportedly valued by Eintracht at a pitiful €30 million (£25 million/$32.9m). If a move didn’t pan out, you might definitely still find a way to flip him for a profit in today’s market. However, considering that Marmoush still has a few seasons left in him, there’s not much reason to believe he won’t be successful.

Marmoush would join a group of speedy forwards who enjoy playing in transition if a move to United materializes. If the Red Devils can finally sort out their internal issues, this would be a near-perfect stylistic match. But if they decide to pursue it more seriously, he should take heed of the much more solid foundations at Liverpool and Arsenal.

Whether the goals come in at this ridiculous pace or not, Marmoush is an incredibly thrilling player to see in action. To start a new journey in England more quickly, Mido shouldn’t have to tweet again.

Omar Marmoush is being called the new Mohamed Salah, after his stellar start for Eintracht Frankfurt. His performances have attracted a lot of attention from top European clubs, one of them being Manchester United.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
