New Delhi: NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique died after being shot by three men in Bandra East, Mumbai, Maharashtra, on October 12, Saturday night.
Two people were arrested right after the incident that happened outside the office of MLA Zeeshan Siddiqui’s son near Colgate ground in Nirmal Nagar. Two suspected shooters have been taken into custody. One is from Uttar Pradesh, and the other is from Haryana. A third person accused of being involved ran away from the scene. After leaving the Congress, Siddiqui, a former MLA for three terms, recently joined the NCP.

About Baba Siddique
Baba Ziauddin Siddique was an Indian politician from Maharashtra. From 1999 to 2009, he served three consecutive terms as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Vandre West Assembly constituency.
During 2004-2008, he was the Minister of State for Food & Civil Supplies (FDA) and Labour under Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh. Before that, he was a Municipal Corporator for two consecutive terms from 1992 to 1997. Until he resigned from the Indian National Congress on February 8, 2024, he held the position of Chairperson & Senior Vice President of the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee & Parliamentary Board of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee.
Later, on February 12, 2024, he joined the Nationalist Congress Party led by Ajit Pawar. Tragically, Siddique was fatally shot on October 12, 2024, in front of his son Zeeshan’s office.
