Colourful flag-off ceremony headlines Day 4 of SFA Championships 2024

New Delhi: News9’s revolutionary campaign “Indian Tigers and Tigresses” and Sports For All (SFA) are marching towards achieving the common goal of providing the perfect platform for the budding footballers in the country who aspire to become the best in the business.

TV9 Network has tied up with SFA, one of the biggest grassroots sports development platforms in India, for the “Indian Tigers and Tigresses” campaign, a groundbreaking talent hunt that focuses on giving opportunities to young boys and girls (age group – 12 to 14 and 15 to 17) across the country.

A pioneering initiative by News9, from the house of TV9, India’s No. 1 news network, “Indian Tigers and Tigresses” has collaborated with the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, India Football Centre, IFI, BVB, and RIESPO among others, to identify and engage talented youngsters in the country through a top-class scouting network. The winners will be felicitated in Germany in early 2025.

The landmark tie-up with SFA provides a golden opportunity to the thousands of young superstars in Hyderabad to join the TV9 network’s football revolution through the ongoing SFA Championships 2024.

The “Indian Tigers and Tigresses” talent hunt has been a revelation among the Hyderabad kids, who are joining the TV9 bandwagon in numbers.

SFA Championships 2024 gathers unstoppable momentum

Day 4 of the SFA Championships 2024 witnessed a lively start with the Flag Off Ceremony at Gachibowli Stadium. Some prominent schools including Sancta Maria International School (Gachibowli), Vignan’s Bo Tree School (Nizampet), Santinos Global School (Meerpet), Sentia The Global School (Miyapur), CGR International School CBSE (Hitech City) and The Global Edge School (Kokapet). All six schools proudly displayed their school flags, setting the stage for a spirited day of competition.

The day’s events featured Round 1 of the U-15 Males Singles Badminton at Yousufguda, where young athletes showcased their skills. In Karate in the Kata U-15 girls category, Tamannah Pramanik claimed a gold medal to add to the excitement.

Meanwhile, at the Shriram Skating Rink, Charita Sri Mandipudi from Vignan’s Bo Tree School (Nizampet) raced to the gold medal in the U-17 Girls 1000m Inline category. In the 500m Quads, Nandkishore Tirlangi from Rainbow International School (Beeramguda) cruised to gold in the u-17 boys category while Amrutha Goranthla from Bhashyam High School (Kukatpally) claimed the top podium spot in the U-14 girls category.

At Gachibowli Stadium, the colourful flag-off ceremony was followed by some thrilling in the initial rounds of Football, Throwball, Kho Kho, and Basketball.

The Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium witnessed the boys’ U-10 singles Tennis Quarterfinals with young guns battling for a spot in the semi-finals. As Day 4 comes to a close, Pallavi Model School (Boduppal) has slipped 4 ranks while DDMS AMS P.Obul Reddy Public School has claimed the top spot on the school leaderboard followed by Santinos Global School (Meerpet) and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan CBSE (Ramachandrapuram). As the day progresses, a lot of ups and downs are power expected in the leaderboard.

Over 16,354 athletes from 395 schools are competing across 19 sports at this year’s Hyderabad edition of the SFA Championships, which will continue until October 22. The tournament has created a platform for young athletes to showcase their talent, providing an opportunity for schools to shine on the leaderboard.
