The challenges a pensioner faces can be many. But perhaps the most daunting one is the challenge to get out of the home, trudge to the bank to prove that he/she is alive. October-November is the time when every pensioner has to submit life certificate to keep the pension flowing uninterrupted. The point to note here is that it applies to all former government employees – irrespective of whether they used to work for the Centre or a state government.
November 30 is the last day to submit life certificate by which life certificate or Jeevan Pramaan Certificate has to be submitted. The window for submission opens on November 1 and would remain open till November 30. A time of 2 months – October 1 to November 30 – is given to Super Senior Citizens or those above 80 years, considering their age and potential troubles.
Jeevan Pramaan and its significance
Digital Life Certificate is known as Jeevan Pramaan. It has been designed for pensioners and features biometric technology and Aadhaar-based authentication. Successful submission of this certificates is a proof that the pension is alive and the pension should keep flowing. If it is not successful, pension will stop from December 2024.
Steps to submit Jeevan Pramaan Certificate
A smartphone can be used for this purpose. It also needs an active internet connection. However, one has to install the ‘AadhFaceRD’ and ‘Jeevan Pramaan Face App’ both of which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. Once the app is downloaded and successfully installed, the operator authentication has to be completed and the operator’s face has to be scanned. Next the details of the pensioner have to be furnished. A photo has to be taken with the front camera and the details have to be submitted along with it. Once these steps are done, a text message, or SMS, would be sent to the registered mobile number of the pensioner. This SMS would contain a link to download the Jeevan Pramaan.
Taking the help of Dak Sewaks
Not many people are aware that they can take the help of Indian Post Payment Bank Gramin Dak Sewaks and postmen to submit biometric data via the Postinfo App. The user has to pay Rs 70 for the service. An individual can download the ‘Doorstep Banking’ app for a payment of Rs 75. Or, he/she can call toll-free numbers for assistance.
For a pensioner, submitting a life certificate once a year is a must and if it can be done online it makes life easy for the individual. Personal Finance Business News – Personal Finance News, Share Market News, BSE/NSE News, Stock Exchange News Today
