Georgia: Rock icon Bruce Springsteen took the stage at a Kamala Harris rally in Georgia on Thursday, urging Americans to back Harris in the upcoming election and accusing Donald Trump of wanting to be a “tyrant.”
Springsteen Backs Harris, Slams Trump at Georgia Rally
Springsteen, famed for his working-class anthems, called Harris the “best hope for America” while condemning Trump for not understanding “what it means to be deeply American.”
He said, ” Donald Trump wants to be a tyrant. He does not know what it means to be deeply American. I am urging all who believe in the American way to join me in voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz”.
“That’s why on November 5, I’m voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz,” he added while singing on the stage.
The rally, held in Atlanta, attracted major names, including former President Barack Obama and filmmaker Tyler Perry, aiming to boost early voting in the crucial battleground state. Harris, following Springsteen’s performance, spoke to the crowd about moving past “fear and divisiveness” and highlighted her commitment to unity and progress.
With less than two weeks before Election Day, Harris has enlisted celebrity support to reach undecided voters. Her campaign has already secured endorsements from stars like Taylor Swift, Oprah Winfrey, and Lizzo. Obama, campaigning for Harris in swing states also raised Springsteen’s call for unity and pushed back on Trump’s “self-interest” over the nation’s needs.
As early voting numbers climb, Harris’ team hopes high-profile supporters will sway critical votes in the final stretch.
