World Kindness Day 2024: Why was this day created?

New Delhi: Mahatma Gandhi once said, “The simplest acts of kindness are by far more powerful than a thousand heads bowing in prayer.” In today’s world, there is no time for people to look around themselves and learn what is happening. Some people show acts of kindness by even doing a small bit. In 1998, World Kindness Day was formed to promote kindness in the world, and since then, on November 13, World Kindness Day has been observed in many countries.

The day is observed as an opportunity to reflect upon one of the most important and unifying human principles: kindness. On a day celebrating kindness, focus on sharing and spreading this important quality. Kindness connects people from all walks of life.

Let us read about why this was created and the day’s importance.

World Kindness Day 2024: Why was this day created?

World Kindness Day began in 1998 through the World Kindness Movement. This day aims to promote kindness worldwide. It is celebrated every year on November 13 as part of the Global Kindness Movement. World Kindness Day allows us to think about the importance of empathy, compassion, and kindness. On this day, let us come together to encourage and share acts of kindness, both big and small.

Importance of the day

World Kindness Day celebrates good deeds in the community and emphasises the power of kindness that connects us all. Kindness is a basic part of being human that helps us overcome differences in race, religion, politics, gender, and location. The World Kindness Movement, a global organisation, is working with the United Nations to officially recognise World Kindness Day. Its members support a Declaration of Support for World Kindness.

Kindness is a way to connect with others, regardless of their origins. It helps people from different cultures feel closer. If we all tried to make just one person smile daily, the world would be much happier.

World Kindness Day is an international observance on November 13, introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement. It is celebrated in many countries, including Canada, Australia, Nigeria, and the UAE. Singapore first observed the day in 2009. In the UK, it is led by David Jamilly and co-founded by Louise Burfitt-Dons.   knowledge Knowledge News, Photos and Videos on General Knowledge
