New Delhi: The much-anticipated boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will take place this weekend after being delayed by a few months. The original bout of the legendary American boxer against the YouTuber-turned-boxer was scheduled on July 20, 2024.
With Tyson’s health conditions worsening after a flight scare from Miami to Los Angeles in May. As a result, the 58-year-old boxer was advised to take rest by medical professionals for a few weeks.
Come this Friday, the match has been rescheduled, according to American timings. This will mark the return of Tyson to the boxing arena only for his second professional fight after he retired in 2005. In November 2020, the former heavyweight lineal champion fought against Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout in Los Angeles. Both the boxers were engaged in a eight two-minute rounds before they settled for a draw.
“This is better than fighting for championships. We’re humanitarians now. We can do something good for the world. We’ve got to do this again,” Tyson said of the heavyweight exhibition after the bout.
