New Delhi: George St-Pierre retired from UFC a long time ago; he put his gloves down in 2017. After 7 years, he got an offer from UFC former champion Tyron Woodley to return in the ring. It will make a new story for GSP if he returns to the cage.
St-Pierre was inducted into the Hall of Fame and was also the UFC welterweight champion for nearly six years, he held the title for six years. GSP also didn’t lose any fights from 2007 till now and defended his title nine times in that spam.
Woodley was also the welterweight champion, but his reign was shorter compared to GSP. Woodley defended his title four times in two years of spam. Woodley called out GSP to end the debate of the greatest Welterweight champion in UFC history.
“Georges St-Pierre never wanted to fight me,” Woodley said in an interview with Plejmo. “I’ve asked Georges to fight me several times.”
GSP last fought in the octagon in 2017, where he defeated Michael Bisping, and after two years in 2019, GSP announced his retirement from the UFC. He was also interested in fighting Khabib Nurmagomedov, but that fight never happened.
GSP walked out of the MMA with a great record of 26-2, while Woodley was in a five-fight losing streak, and after leaving UFC, he is 0-3 outside the octagon, including two losses against Jake Paul.
Israel Adesanya predicts winner of Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic fight
Former UFC middleweight champion Adesanya predicted the main event of UFC 309 event. UFC 309 will be headlined by heavyweight champion Jon Jones defending his title against Stipe Miocic. It will be a second fight for Jones after coming back from an injury; he defeated Cryl Gane to become the heavyweight champion.
Adesanya picked Jones to finish Miocic under two rounds, as Jones is looking great ahead of the fight. He also stated that Jones defeated the best heavyweight in the UFC, which was Gane, Jones easily finished Gane in the first round.
