New Delhi: Jeevan Pramaan is a biometric-enabled digital service for pensioners and any government pensioner in India can avail of it. Pensioners, after retirement, have to provide life certificates to the authorities agencies like banks and post offices which disburses the pension. It is only after providing the life certificate that they get the pension. A person has to go through a lot of physical hassle to get the life certificate and this is where the Jeevan Pramaan comes into play.
Also known as the Digital Life Certificate for Pensioners Scheme, it has digitised the entire process of securing the life certificate. Now pensioners can easily get the life certificate thanks to Jeevan Pramaan and there is no need for them to physically go to the disbursing agency or the certification authority to get the certificate.
Do EPS pensioners need to submit a digital life certificate?
The Digital Life Certificate (DLC) is popularly called the Jeevan Pramaan Patra and all pensioners have to submit it to get a monthly pension. Here it must be noted that like all government pensioners, employees who have retired from private sector companies and getting their pension under EPS have to submit the Jeevan Praman Patra. The last date to submit the digital life certificate is November 30.
Digital Life Certificate Campaign 3.0
A Digital Life Certificate Campaign 3.0 has been launched by the central government all over the country to empower pensioners digitally. It is being held across the nation in 800 cities and towns. The campaign began on November 1 and will go on till November 30. Till then, all government pensioners and those of EPFO and autonomous bodies can submit the Jeevan Pramaan Patra at pension disbursing agencies. Those pensioners who are more than 80 years old can do it from home and they are provided doorstep delivery of services.
