New Delhi: Every morning at Shri Mahakaleshwar temple, a wide number of devotees get together to indulge in the Bhasma Aarti, similarly, on Wednesday morning as well, devotees gathered at the temple for Bhasma Aarti even before the doors were opened. While the doors opened for aarti, after reciting Swasti in the ears of Veerbhadra Ji, the aarti began.

Baba Mahakal was seen adorned in beautiful attire with ornaments such as a garland of Tripund, Surya and Rudraksha. All those who were present during the aarti were stunned by the mesmerising view and divine darshan today. Baba Mahakal woke up at 4 am to bless the devotees with his darshan. Following this, Baba Mahakal’s Bhasma Aarti was performed with a grand celebration.

Pandit Mahesh Sharma, the priest of the renowned Shri Mahakaleshwar temple, shared that Baba Mahakal woke up at 4 am today, Wednesday, during the Panchami Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the Margashirsha month. As always the doors of the temple were opened after seeking permission from Veerbhadra and Manbhadra.

The lord took a bath in hot water, followed by Panchamrit Abhishek along with water and saffron offered to god. Today, during Baba Mahakal’s Bhasma Aarti, the decoration was special. Lord Shri Mahakaleshwar was adorned with Tripund and a Rudraksha garland, and also decorated in the form of Shri Ganesh.

Following this, the Mahanirvani Akhara offered ashes to Baba Mahakal. Devotees had the privilege of witnessing the divine Bhasma Aarti of Baba Mahakal from both Nandi Hall and Ganesh Mandapam, benefiting from the special arrangements made for the event.

During this sacred moment, many devotees joyously chanted “Jai Shri Mahakal” as they witnessed Baba Mahakal’s form transition from formless to a tangible, real presence, feeling blessed by his divine manifestation. This rare sight of Baba was a blessings for those witnessing in real during the aarti.
