New Delhi: The group stages to the new look Nations League concluded on Tuesday (November 19). Eight teams have secured their spots in the playoffs, while the promotion and relegation outcomes have reshaped the divisions, setting the stage for the next chapter in this thrilling competition.
The tournament will now resume next year with the knockout stages along with relegation and promotion play-offs. Let’s take a look at who has reached the quarterfinals and who has been promoted and relegated and what’s still left to be decided.
Who are the quarterfinalists and when is the draw?
Eight teams have advanced to the knockout stages of the Nations league. The teams are Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. From Group 1 Portugal and Croatia advanced and Ronaldo’s team even remained unbeaten in the competition so far.

From Group 2 France and Italy made it through to the playoff side. Both teams ended onm13 points but France finished top in the standings due to their superior goal difference. Moving to Group 3 Germany and Neetherlands have advanced while Dpasin and Denmark have made it out of the Group 4 for the next stage.
The quarterfinals draw will take place in Nyon, Switzerland on 22nd November. The winners of the last-eight ties will advance to the Nations League Finals with semi-finals and a final scheduled in June.
Promotion/Relegation play-offs
The promotion/relegation play-offs are also scheduled to take place in March. The teams that finished third in League A will play two-legged ties against second-placed sides from League B with winners of those taking place in League A.
Meanwhile, the third placed teams in League B will face the second-placed side in League C with the winners securing their place in League B. The two nations who will finish bottom in League C with the best records will play League D runner-ups.
League A/B play-offs: Austria, Belgium, Greece, Hungary, Scotland, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine
League B/C play-offs: Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Iceland, Kosovo or Romania, Republic of Ireland, Slovakia and Slovenia
League C/D play-offs: Gibraltar, Latvia, Luxembourg and Malta
Promoted and relegated teams
The group who have finished at the bottom of groups in League A, B and C will face direct relegation while the teams topping the groups in League B, C and D will get direct promotion. Nations League A toppers will have the championship play-off while the League D bottom spot holders remain in the same zone.

Promoted: Czech Republic, England, Norway, Wales (League A)
