12 fighters removed from UFC roster including Former heavyweight title challenger

New Delhi: UFC President Dana White has removed 12 fighters from the roaster including one-time interim championship challenger Ovince Saint Preux. Saint Preux challenged Jon Jones for the Interm heavyweight championship at UFC 197 in April 2016.

Saint Preux has fought 28 fights in his UFC career and had an average record of 15-13 in the UFC. At one point in time, In his peak performances, he was the top light heavyweights in the UFC. He finished his pro MMA career with a 27-18 record overall.

Some fighters are removed from the roaster as their contract came to an end and UFC didn’t extend their contract. After Saint Preux, Brian Kelleher is the most notable name on the list. He was in the Bantamweight division and spent seven years in the division. He lost his last four fights in the UFC and UFC didn’t re-sign him after the fighter’s recent performance.

Kelleher also fought with some top Bantamweight division fighters like Umar Nurmagomedov and Former UFC Champion Cody Garbrandt. Kelleher has a record of 24-16 in his professional career. He lost his last four fights by stoppages.

Dana White’s Contender series has been a success for the President as new young talents are coming from the series. The UFC veterans will now find difficulties staying long in the UFC roaster as new young lads are fighting excellent in the UFC.

Korean fighter Da Woon Jung also removed from the roaster. He lost four fights in a row and now released from the UFC roaster, Woon Jung started his UFC career on a high note. He was undefeated in his first five fights but then his UFC career took a down step in his career and now he is done with the UFC.
