New Delhi: Two people were killed while two others sustained injuries in a stabbing attack in Holon in central Israel on Sunday. The attacker was shot at by police, said sources.
Media reports suggested that the attack was carried out by a Palestinian, who was “neutralized,” and that a search was underway for other suspects. The deceased included a 66-year-old woman.
The stabbing incident was reported during morning rush hour in the city of Holon in Tel Aviv district. Sources revealed that the miscreant attacked people near a gas station and a park in the city. The injured included two other senior citizens and a young man. The injured were rushed to hospitals.
Soon after the incident, police teams arrived at the scene and conducted thorough investigations. Reports stated that the injured people were found in three different locations, each about 500 meters (yards) apart, fuelling concerns that more than one assailant was involved in the attack.
