Tennessee: In a distressing incident, a six-week-old baby boy was mauled by their family dog while he was sleeping in his crib. The case was reported in the United States Tennessee, where Ezra Mansoor was attacked by the tame husky that had been living with the family for almost eight years.
The incident occurred earlier this week, where the little boy succumbed to his injuries on Thursday after being in critical condition for several days, suffering from brain bleeding and swelling, local media reported.
Chloe and Mark Mansoor, Ezra’s parents said that they were surprised as the dog never showed any signs of aggression. The first time parents had two dogs and are devastated right now.
The couple added that they never thought that their child’s safety would be at risk because of the dog.
Chloe told WVLT, “Being his mom was the biggest honour and the best thing I’ve ever done,” adding that it could have been “any dog at any time, completely unprovoked, no matter what the history is.”
Amidst the tragedy, the family hopes that others can better protect their kids. The Mansoor family has decided to honour Ezra’s memory by donating his organ to help other kids in need. Meanwhile, the family dog involved in the incident was brought to a local animal centre and the matter is currently under investigation.
“Don’t take anything for granted, even frustrating moments are amazing. Pray for all the family. Everyone loved him so much. We’re all grieving, and it’s a lifelong process,” Chloe added.
