Then you need to hurry, as the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has said that the last date to update Aadhaar details free of cost is December 14, 2024. One should avoid getting entangled into last minute technical glitches and update their details
It may be noted that the free Aadhaar updation was only allowed till September 15, 2024. However, for the convenience of the citizens, the UIDAI extended it to December 14, 2024. “Your #Aadhaar registered mobile number makes it easy to download your e-Aadhaar anywhere, anytime. With your #Aadhaar updated mobile number, you may always keep a check on your Aadhaar update history. #UIDAI extends free online document upload facility till 14th December 2024; to benefit millions of Aadhaar Number Holders. This free service is available only on #myAadhaar portal. UIDAI has been encouraging people to keep documents updated in their #Aadhaar,” the UIDAI posted on X.
The Aadhaar Enrolment and Update Regulations, 2016, states that an Aadhaar number holder has to update the documents or the information evidencing proof of identity and proof of address, by submitting an application on completion of every period of 10 years from the date of generation of the Aadhaar number assigned to him.

Which documents to submit? – An Applicant needs to submit a Ration card, Voter identity card, Government-issued identity card/ certificate having address, and Indian Passport serve as proof of both identity and address.
PAN card, Driving license, Secondary or Senior School mark sheet/ School leaving certificate having photograph, Government-issued identity card/ certificate – serve as only proof of identity.
Electricity/water/gas bill (last 3 months), Bank / Post Office passbook, rent/ lease/ leave & license agreement serve as proof of address only.
The documents can be submitted online on myAadhaar portal or by visiting any Aadhaar centre free of cost till December 14, 2024.
