New Delhi: Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has stated that he is “disappointed” at Anfield with the club yet to take a call over his contract extension which is set to expire at the end of the season. The 32-year-old is Liverpool’s leading top goalscorer this season with 12 goals in all competitions and looks more likely to leave than stay.
Salah netted twice in the Reds 3-2 triumph over Southampton on Sunday including the winning penalty shot to help Liverpool trail by eight points at the top of the Premier League. After the win at St.Mary’s, he told reporters, “We are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club. “I’m probably more out than in.”

The Egyptian forward joined the club back in 2017 for a reported £34.3m from Roma and in 2022 he signed a three-year contract extension with the club but that deal is set to expire in the summer.
Salah is one of three key Liverpool players nearing the end of their contracts, alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold and club captain Virgil van Dijk. Earlier this month after scoring the winning goal against Brighton Salah even wrote on X- “No matter what happens, I will never forget what scoring at Anfield feels like.”
Top of the table is where this club belongs. Nothing less. All teams win matches but there’s only 1 champion in the end. That’s what we want. Thank you for your support last night. No matter what happens, I will never forget what scoring at Anfield feels like. pic.twitter.com/c2rVHQxjK8

At 32 Salah shows no sign of slowing down this season alone he has been involved in 16 of Liverpool’s 24 Premier League goals. Salah has scored 223 goals in 367 appearances for the club across all competitions.
Though discussions are yet to begin Salah can sign a pre-contract with overseas clubs once the new year starts. With the Saudi Pro League interested in the forward and financial power, Liverpool faces a real risk of losing their star by the start of the 2025/26 season.
The banner at Anfield reading, “He Fires a Bow. Now Give Mo His Dough” perfectly captures Salah’s value to Liverpool. The club’s owners should take note and secure a deal before it’s too late.
